Student Experience Office (SEO): Resources for New Students

The Student Experience Office (SEO) has many programs that help first year students get involved at Carleton. If you encounter a student who would like to get more involved on campus, the SEO has these and many other services.

Alternative Spring Break This isn’t your typical Spring Break! Get involved in an immersive service learning experience in Ottawa or internationally that changes students lives. Open to all undergraduate students.

Peer Helper Program Open to students in their 2nd-4th year, this program provides opportunities for students to work in one of 9 departments on campus throughout the academic year. The positions allow students to develop practical work skills such as communication, networking, public speaking and event planning. Students will also expland their understanding of the day-to-day operations of Carleton University. Applications for these positions are posted on our website in February each year.

CU Host Program The host program allows top tier student leaders in their 2nd-4th year to represent Carleton at campus and community events. This paid position provides students with opportunties to act as ambassadors at events such as the Press Gala Movie screening of Passchendaele, the FASS Distinguished Lecture and the Better Outcomes for Citizens Conference. Would you like to be included in the biggest events taking place at Carleton? This is your rsvp.
